Cannabis Review: Night Queen by A B Labs via CannMart

Don’t Expect To Roll This

This cannabis flower is from A B Labs, a licensed producer out in Ancaster, Ontario and was purchased from CannMart which is a 3rd party provider of licensed produced cannabis in Canada. I liked this one but there was a serious downfall.

Cannabinoid Content and Terpenes

The label on the container showed a value of 11.1% THC and 0.044% CBD.

Noted from the CannMart website showed that Myrcene was the leading dominant terpene with a value of 0.114%. Pinene (0.0304%), Limonene (0.022%) and Linalool (0.019%) were listed as well and others at much lower values than 0.02%.

Price, Shipping and Pack Dates

I purchased 3.55 grams from CannMart at the cost of $8.57 per gram plus taxes. The cost of shipping was free with Canada Post since my order was over $100, otherwise it would’ve been $9 flat.

The package date on the container was noted July 25th 2019 and was ordered on November 11. I began reviewing this on November 25, which means the product was packaged for 124 days before being opened.

Smell and Appearance

There was a noticeable woodsy aroma after tearing open the sachet. Inside was a small Boveda pack that’s there to maintain freshness but this far from fresh. The Boveda was dried out already and I blame this type of packaging, or maybe it was dried out when packed, who knows.

While the buds were extremely dry and the grinds resulting in a fine, powdery mess I did attempt on rolling a joint which was a huge mess. Up close the trichome heads were amber and explains the golden shade across the dry airy buds.

Consumption and Taste

I used my Mighty vaporizer in the temperature range of 170 to 190 Celsius (338F to 374F) using about 0.25g using the dosing capsules. My favorite temperature was 180C (356F) for about eight minutes, wasn’t too bad and not terrible, tasted woodsy and reminded me of Afghan Kush a bit.

In joint form it took a few extra tries to roll due to being powdery, and when burned it resulted in grey ash. Smoke was smooth and didn’t require any relighting which was a positive. Preference was using the vaporizer.

Subjective Effects

Feeling slightly tired after consuming it with both methods would indicate to use this at night, however the increased hunger is what kept me up. Duration of effects lasted around 90 minutes before weaning off.

Final Thoughts

This cultivar had potential to be great but was too dried out and had very little moisture in it, if any at all. I wouldn’t buy this again unless it was packaged better. If you plan on trying this make sure you have a vaporizer to enjoy it fully.
