Not Even Worth $4.20 A Gram
Hindu Skunk was an experience I will never forget. I purchased this from CannMart’s medical website and acts as a 3rd party provider of licensed produced cannabis in Canada. This is currently no longer offered on CannMart’s website but I felt it was necessary to review.
Cannabinoid Content and Terpenes
The label on the container showed a value of 14.726% THC and 0.0215% CBD.
Based on the CannMart website the terpene profile displayed caryophyllene as the leading dominant terpene with a value of 0.248%. Not too far behind was myrcene with 0.172%, and small amounts of limonene (0.055%), b-Pinene (0.014%), a-Pinene (0.007%) and a tiny amount of linalool (0.002%) was present.
Price, Shipping and Pack Dates
I purchased 5 grams from CannMart at the cost of $4.20 per gram plus taxes during the Cyber Monday sales week that was on their website. The cost of shipping was free with Canada Post since my order was over $100, otherwise it would’ve been $9 flat.
The package date on the container was noted October 4th 2018 and was ordered on November 29th 2019. I began reviewing this on December 12th 2019, which means the product was packaged for 435 days before being opened. A new record in my books!
Smell and Appearance
Upon opening the container I noticed a light musky chlorine smell. The buds were extremely dry and required the use of the provided Boveda pack.
Bag appeal was low with this one and had a large stem randomly inside with no flower attached. Light greens and some leaves were present on the large 3.2 gram bud. The rest was a gram and 0.8 grams of shake/stem. While not noticeable with the naked eye, under five times magnification I did notice some sort of webbing or possible mold as advised by the cannabis community. This would explain the effects I had mentioned below.
Consumption and Taste
Using the Mighty vaporizer with the dosing capsules holding about 0.25 grams of cannabis, I found the effective temperature of 170 to 185 Celsius (338 to 365 Fahrenheit) for about six to seven minutes.
I didn’t consume this in joint form due to the effects I dealt with.
Subjective Effects
After my initial session with Hindu Skunk I began to feel nauseous and figured it was something I ate earlier that day. I had a couple more sessions throughout the day and the effect got worse. I couldn’t vape or smoke any cannabis for a week as the nausea was so bad.
After taking detailed photos as pictured above I noticed webbing or possible mold on the buds. This was only noticed with the macro lens and not visible with the naked eye.
Final Thoughts
While I had my doubts about a steal of a deal at $4.20 a gram I tried to keep an open mind. Currently there’s no word on expiration dates on cannabis due to the lack of stability studies, and I wonder if the issue was because it was in the container for so long or a grow gone wrong. I’m happy to see it’s no longer available on the CannMart medical website, but from now on I will take all types of pictures before consuming any bud again. Macros tend to be more time consuming but better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks for reading!
